After we debuted our “Getting By” EP last summer we return with a series of remixes :)
The first drop is K, Le Maestro’s re-interpretation of “Life” featuring rapper JuJu Rogers (Jakarta Records). The up and coming London beat maker worked out a whole new spin without losing the atmospheric vibe of the original, on which JuJu Rogers opened up about depression and inner devastation.
"One Of The Days”, reworked by german kraut experimentalists Sea Moya. Modha’s Dhanya Langer connected with the now Montreal- and L.A.-based band through N Kramer of Still Parade, a friend in common. Sea Moya transforms the melancholic atmosphere of “One Of These Days” with subtle percussion patterns and smooth synth lines, which give the original composition by Modha’s Max Scholl a new, slightly afrobeat influenced twist.
The third and last edit comes from Jakarta Records’ very own Bluestaeb. The Paris-based producer put together a super smooth neo soul make over of “Freckles” featuring James Chatburn. The Australian singer, who lives and works in Berlin, previously worked with artists such as Jordan Rakei and Hilltop Hoods and his blues infused soul has been endorsed by platforms such as Soulection and Mahogany Sessions. “Freckles” is a sensual ode working out all the beauty in Chatburn’s raw and characteristic voice and lyricism. Bluestaeb took that original vibe and merged it with his very own.
